1.  Get online and research a vineyard as if you were going to be the owner and caretaker of the vineyard.  What would you need to know? What would you do to take care of the vines?  What would you need to know about what makes a vineyard fruitful?

2.  Read Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret and the lesson he learned about abiding in Christ.  And or read The Secrets of the Vine by Bruce Wilkinson.

3.  Ask your group  what insights they have on abiding in Christ. What do you find difficult to abiding in Christ? Why?  What ideas do you have to overcome these difficulties?

4.  Keep you ear open throughout the day in conversations, in reading an article, or just in silence to life answers you have been wrestling with. God may be speaking through those around you.

5.  Keep you eyes open to the beauty and presence of God which is all around you.  Have you noticed lately?

6.   Keep your heart and mind open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.  When you sense or feel a prompting of the Spirit to say something and do something don’t just ignore it, talk to God about it and ask Him if it is from Him.  (make sure your not just feeling indigestion - ha ha, and most importantly always evaluate promptings with Biblical truth).

7.  Take time for quiet and ask God to reveal to you anything that is hindering your fellowship with Him.  Confess it and ask Him to cleanse you and renew you.

8.  Memorize John 15:4-5 and then ask yourself how are you personally abiding in Christ:?  Helpful words to reflect on from John 15:  The Word, Prayer, Loved by God, Love God, Love one another
