Targeted ages: 8-15
Every Thursday night from 4:30-6:45, starting February 4
Across from Living Faith Fellowship, there is a set of lower-income apartments called Elkhart Greens. Our vision is to create a fun, safe place for kids to come and receive tutoring help, learn life skills, and find Christ through healthy relationships built with the existing leaders.
Format:
4:30-5: Game time
Building: Community
Dynamic: Relational
This is a time for the leaders to connect with the kids through games. This is also a time for the kids to get to know one another. Also a time for some healthy competition J
5-6: Tutoring
Building: Character, Competency
Dynamic: Instructional, Relational
Each child will have a one-on-one tutor to help them achieve academic success. This will also be a time for the leaders to build relationships with the children and create a feeling of trust between the tutor and child.
6-6:30: Separate learning time
Building: Christ, Community, Character, Calling, Competency
Dynamic: Spiritual, Relational, Experiential, Instructional
We will divide the girls from boys and do separate learning groups. Learning experiences will be made for each group’s individual needs.
6:30-6:45: Wrap-up and prayer time
Building: Christ, Community
Dynamic: Spiritual, Relational
Praying over each child’s specific requests to show them God is powerful and very much alive. Also continue to build relationships between leader and child through a spiritual dynamic.
