Learn by doing means to draw the learner in as participant. Here is a quote which describes this principle: “I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.” We retain 10% of what we READ.We retain 20% of what we HEAR.We retain 30% of what we SEE.We retain 50% of what we SEE and HEAR.We retain 70% of what we SAY.We retain 80% of what we EXPERIENCE personally. We retain 90% of what se SAY and DO (what we TEACH to someone else).
