1.  (group)Read these verses and discuss what is God’s purpose or goal in a believer’s life?   Galatians 4:19, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Romans 8:29,

2.  (group) “Character is the formation of the image of Christ in our lives...” Spirit Built Leadership, Vol. 2. pg. 58 by Malcolm Webber.  Character is the combination of attitude and behavior.  Discuss these statements about character.

3.  (solo) Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 and note the attitude (inward)-behavior (outward) expressions of the character traits of love.  Example:  “Love is patient, love is kind...”  patience is an inward attitude and kindness is the outward expression of it.  Check out the remaining qualities of love and fill out the chart

4.  (solo) Choose a character quality you want to focus on (ex. gentleness).   Determine what is the inner attitude and the outward behavior that correlates with that character.

a. pray that the Holy Spirit reveals to you your inner  attitude and makes you aware of your outward behavior towards others.

b.  Put yourself in situations where you need to exhibit your character trait

5.  (partner) Share the character you are focusing on and ask your friend how they view you in that area.  Make yourself accountable to him/her

6.  (solo) Find quotes that speak to your character quality and memorize some.

7.  (solo/group) Do a study of a leader who exhibits that trait and exhibits the opposite of your character trait.  What do you learn from each?

8.  (solo) Interview a person you know that demonstrates this quaility as a way of life.

9.  (group) Character revealed, refined and formed in times of “crisis of faith” if you respond well to God’s dealings with you.  What helps keep a healthy perspective when you go through these trials?
