Spiritual – S Experiential – E Relational – R Instructional – IExercise: - (Team ) R – Think about a time when you received something anonymously. Was it a gift? Money? A note? Tell the members of your team how that anonymous gift made you feel. Describe the situation. How did this experience make a difference in your life?
- (Individual) S – Read the following Bible verses and write a summary of the passage by asking the 5W and 1H questions (Who, What, Where, When, Why and How).
Matthew 6:1-4Psalm 62:10 - (Team) I – Each person will read a testimony of a person who has given generously (see attached). They may or may not be anonymous gifts. After each testimony, discuss the person’s motivation for giving and the ways they honored God with their giving.
- (Individual) I – Interview at least three pastors or ministry leaders asking them about what they have witnessed in people giving generously. Find out how both the recipient and the giver were impacted and what blessings they enjoyed.
- (Individual) S – Pray and seek God’s wisdom and blessing to open your heart to give generously. Ask your prayer intercessor to pray that God would give you a generous spirit.
- (Individual and Team) E – Pray to seek God’s wisdom and guidance about a person or family who needs help. Make a plan to give anonymously. Finally, without telling others on your team about the recipient of your gift talk about how the experience of giving anonymously changed you and the recipient (if you can know how the recipient was impacted).
