Spiritual – S                          Experiential – E        Relational – R                       Instructional – IExercise:
  1. (Solo ) S – Read through Colossians 1 and 2.  As you read record everything you learn about Christ.  In this assignment you need to find from Scripture the relationship Jesus Christ had to God.
  2. (Solo) I – Look up the Greek word for “image” as used in Colossians 1:15.  Write what you have learned.  (note: There is a word study tool online at  http://bible.lifeway.com/crossmain.asp)
  3. (Solo) I – One of the major aspects of Christianity is the person of Jesus Christ.  Who is Jesus in relation to the Father?  What does Jesus claim to be?  Look up the following scriptures and write what you observe from the text.
    1. Hebrews 1:1-3, 8
    2. John 1:18
    3. John 12:45
    4. John 14:7-11
    5. John 8:58, 24; Exodus 3:14
    6. John 10:30-33
    7. Colossians 2:9
    8. Philippians 2:5-11
  4. (Solo) E – Write down 1:15-22 on a note card.  Take is with you and read it several times a day.  Meditate on the words.  Pray them back to God: “Jesus, you are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation…”.  Worship Him throughout the day as you “practice the presence of Jesus Christ” reading, memorizing and praying through these verses.  Do it every day for a week and see how God reveals Himself to you.
  5. (Couple) S – Pray with your prayer intercessor.  Worship God together and Wait on Him to reveal Himself to you.
